A journey to celebrate 16 years of friendship @ Cing Jing Farm & Old England

1. Cing Jing Farm

Cing Jing Farm is one of the must go places in Cing Jing. It was a very picturesque farm with breathtaking view of the beautiful gorges and ever-green landscape.

Visiting this farm is a joy because the temperature was cooling given that we were at a high altitude. Overall, the farm tried to imitate the scenery of Switzerland and I've heard that the sheep at the farm were imported from New Zealand.

Remember to do much walking in the farm and explore the different viewing points to catch the scenic views of the entire landscape. Try to spare at least 1.5 hours to stroll around the place at your leisure pace. The scenery is definitely worth your time. Kids will definitely love this place because they can get to chase the sheep that were roaming freely in the fields. There are also horse ride for both adults and the kids in the farm.

2. Royal High Tea @ Old England

The old England Hotel @ Cing Jing is really a gem. It is also the most expensive hotel in Cing Jing @ an extravagant price of SGD800 per night. I really love both its exterior and interior which looks grand like a palace.

The hotel is famous for its high tea and reservation must be made in advance. The high tea cost SGD50 person and consist of a 3 tier cakes, muffin, macaroon, éclairs' and tarts, served nicely on golden plates.

Although the cakes and pastries were not fantastic, I love the flavored tea served. Not to mention the royalty ambience and the lavish cutlery designs which helps to score the points.

 3. To Wu Ling

Wu Ling is the highest point,3275m on the island of Taiwan, accessible by roads. Due to the saddle between Hehuan Shan Main Peak and East Peak, deep valleys, high cliffs and rocky peaks are within one's sight. The ride in the car was however not a comfortable one with much turning.

After reaching the peak, it was time to drive downhill to Hualien. The journey was long and there were much steep turning due to the winding road downhill.

4. Taroko Gorge

After almost 5 hours, we arrived at Taroko Gorge at Hualien County. The gorges were beautiful and through the gorges, a river flows though it. We alighted at one section of the gorge, wore the helmets handed to use by the driver and started walking through the gorges. We badly needed the walk after 5 hours drive from Wu ling. The walk was liberating!

Mauritius, An Island of Emotion

Mauritius, is an island nation in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of the African continent. Together with my Diva friend, we travelled to Mauritius in 2014 for our first ever girls trip or what we called as our "Elephant & Hippo Honeymoon". Although Mauritius is an island, the entire island is at least twice bigger than Singapore. Flights to Mauritius are somewhat limited. The airlines that flew to Mauritius include Air Mauritius, Emirates, British Airway and Air France. From Singapore, it took about 10 hours to reach Mauritius, including an hour transit at KL. Despite the long haul flight, I would say Mauritius is worth the visit at least once in your lifetime. I'm glad to have traveled with my Diva friend to this exotic place. Jeju, an island of love and romance Day 2

From its summery island beaches to its statuesque Hallasan Mountain, verdant O'Sulloc green tea fields, and its iconic Sunrise Peak @ Seongsan IIchubang, Jeju Island is an icon in South Korea. Not forgetting the famous Jeju tangerine, a citrus fruit lauded across Jeju island at large. Hence, we decided to go to a local tangerine farm to find out.  I couldn't quite remember the name of the tangerine farm but it took us quite some time to locate it. The farm was near a neighborhood where every household grew their own tangerine trees at their yard/garden. It was quite a sight as this was my first time seeing a tangerine tree.  Anyway, if you like oranges and the idea of trampling through the orchards in search of that perfect fruit, then you've got to come during the tangerine season (which is like from November onwards). Tangerine picking in my opinion is quite an inexpensive activity in Jeju. We googled this tangerine farm not far from the city where tourists and...

Mauritius, An Island Of Emotion @ Chamarel, Black River Gorges and great Seafood lunch

1. Seven Coloured Earth @ Charamel The Seven Coloured Earth is a geological formation and prominent tourist attraction found in the Chamarel Plain of Riviere Noire District in South-western Mauritius. How interesting!   It is in fact a relatively small area of sand dunes comprising sand of seven distinct colours (i.e. red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow). In fact, the colours are dependent on the sunlight. The main feature of the place is that since these differently coloured sands spontaneously settle in different layers, dunes acquire a surrealistic, striped colouring. At the entrance of the Seven Coloured Earth, there is this beautiful Chamarel Waterfall. Although this is not the most magnificent waterfall that I've seen, this waterfall is the highest in Mauritius.
