A Little Gem Outside Bangkok @ Khao Yai - Day 3 &4

1. Scenical Khao Yai

Amusement park is always the happiest place for kids and adults. Khao Yai has a outdoor amusement park and a water park, yes nestled in the scenic mountainous region. How cool is that!

The amusement park  was located within a short distance from our hotel @ Botanica Khao Yai and the hotel provides free shuttle to and from the park upon our requests.

The amusement park has over 20 types of adventurous rides and activities. Highlights for the younger ones include the old-time Gold Rush Train, the Bubble Bumper boats, Kiddie Town car driving course, slope-slides and carousel. For older kids who are thrill seekers, there are Zorb balls that roll downhill, Go Kart, and large pendulum swing type rides.

The rides are charged based on the number of tokens. Overall, I would say the rides are considered reasonably priced. The kids even repeated some of their rides since there weren't many people and hence no queue required.

I would advised to go early in the morning where the weather is cooler. Since this is a outdoor amusement park, it gets hotter by mid-noon. Three hours would be sufficient to enjoy most of the rides.

2. Rest and Relax @ Botanica Khao Yai

I'be mentioned how much I love my room and huge balcony facing the paranormal mountain view. It would be a waste not to spend some time at the resort to relax and recharge. Hence, we decided to spend the afternoon swimming in the infinity pool and getting cosy in our room till dinner time.

We had our dinner at the resort restaurant and the food was amazingly good. The kids had pasta and burger whereas my hubby had his sirloin steak. As for me, the green curry really spiced up my taste bud. Overall, the dinner was lovely and the ambiance was cosy as well.

3. Chok Chai Moo Moo Farm

On the 4th day, we checked out our lovely hotel and headed to Farm Chok Chai for the morning tour. Farm Chok Chai is a very established and commercialized farm located in Pak Chong Road. The farm provides farm tour which started with a video introduction about the farm and pride itself for producing bottles of milk sold throughout Thailand. At farm Chok Chai, there were many activities such as bottle feeding the cows, opportunity to milk the cows, horse riding and lastly animal shows.

We started the tour by getting on the tractor wagon which took us around the farm. We were given a brief introduction on the milking process and even got to taste the ice-cream freshly produced from the factory. Then we proceeded to take some photographs at the grassland before ending our tour with a fantastic animal show. Overall, I find that the tour is quite organised.

Mauritius, An Island of Emotion

Mauritius, is an island nation in the Indian Ocean off the southeast coast of the African continent. Together with my Diva friend, we travelled to Mauritius in 2014 for our first ever girls trip or what we called as our "Elephant & Hippo Honeymoon". Although Mauritius is an island, the entire island is at least twice bigger than Singapore. Flights to Mauritius are somewhat limited. The airlines that flew to Mauritius include Air Mauritius, Emirates, British Airway and Air France. From Singapore, it took about 10 hours to reach Mauritius, including an hour transit at KL. Despite the long haul flight, I would say Mauritius is worth the visit at least once in your lifetime. I'm glad to have traveled with my Diva friend to this exotic place. Enchanting Tasmania @ Alice Cottage Launceston

I was extremely delighted to chance upon this lovely Welsh cottage located in Launceston and I knew that I've got to book this cottage for a night.  Nestled away on a quiet Launceston Street are the heritage cottages, each uniquely and tastefully themed with just a right touch of nostalgic old-world charm. There are various cottages to choose from - The English, Irish, Welsh and Scottish. As suggested by the names, each cottage has its charm and amenities.   It was hard to locate the cottage at first and the GPS kept leading us in the same street for a few rounds until we spotted a little sign board "Alice Cottage" at a corner drive though lane. The drive though entrance was quite narrow but with the excellent driving skill of my husband, we managed to maneuver our vehicle in and thereafter, slowing driving through a small beautiful rose garden. The roses were in full bloom and the air was thick with the sweet scent of the roses. We've finally arrived at our Welsh Cot...

Day 6: Grindelwald and Jungfraujoch Top of Europe

We woke up to a pleasant day with perfect weather. It was no longer rainy and instead rays of sunshine brightened up the entire  town of Grindelwald. The view was perfect right from the moment I opened my room's window. Before I continue with my blog on our journey for the day, let me introduce you to our cosy accommodation in Grindelwald, Hotel Lauberhorn, located within a short distance from the main train station. If you are too lazy to walk, fret not because there are buses available from the train station to reach the hotel. What I really like about this hotel is the bright and cheery exterior, well decorated outdoor garden and lounge, lift in the hotel to reach your rooms (this was indeed a surprise) and lastly very nice view of the mountain coupled with yummy croissants for breakfast. We had a corner room to ourselves without any balcony because the hotel was fully booked during our visit. The room was sparkly clean with modern bathroom facilities and even a heater....
